Struggling orcas heavily rely on urban chinook from Seattle-area rivers, new analysis shows

Washington’s response to this problem is to increase chinook hatchery production in Puget Sound – exactly one of the major factors that has led to decline of Puget Sound chinook. The immediate solution is to reduce ocean and marine harvest of chinook in the commercial and sport fisheries.
