Tribe reels in 200,000 pounds of Atlantic salmon in days after Washington disaster

Lummi Nation fishermen have been desperately trying to catch Atlantic salmon that escaped from a net pen that failed last week at a commercial fish farm, sending thousands of the non-native fish into the waterways.

The net pen moratorium is important for Puget Sound and wild salmon and steelhead through this historically productive rearing and migration area of protected salt water flats and passages.
